Flavor of the Week

Happy New Year! This year we will celebrate our fifth anniversary and we dreamt up something we think will be a lot of fun for our guests and staff; a brand new flavor every week.

Because we make our gelato daily from scratch, in small artisanal batches, we can make gelato from almost any fresh, all-natural, and wholesome ingredient. Now just because we can, doesn’t mean we should (who wants barbeque chicken gelato?) In the past we have shied away from blended flavors like Piña Colada, “American” flavors like Cookies and Cream, or experimental flavors like Fennel. And finally, we are pretty curious how some of those flavors you all came up with the Flavor Contest would turn out.

With the Flavor of the Week, we will shy away no longer! It is our palette to let us vent some collective creativity. We are open to others’ creativity, and we have lined up some special folks who are interested in helping out, so we may have some interesting signature flavors for you too.

Be sure to drop by our store each week to check it out! Each new flavor will be available from Friday to Thursday - in very limited quantities. When the flavor sells out, it sells out. And when you find something you really like, please be sure to let us know, either in our gelateria or by e-mail to flavor@gelaterianaia.com.

Italy and California share more than just good wine. They share the same Mediterranean climate (Csa or mild, mid–latitude, dry, hot for fellow geography majors). In fact, the climate is the reason California and Italy have great wine. They also share Blood Oranges.

Blood Orange is a very popular sorbetto flavor in Italy and at Gelateria Naia. Ours is made with Moro Blood Oranges and will only be around for a few months. We only use juice and pulp from the Blood Oranges to make or sorbetto. We don’t use any “Blood Orange Flavoring” or Blood Orange extracts.
